About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Site Engineer (Civil or Architectural) with up to one year of hands-on experience to play a pivotal role in the execution, quality assurance, and coordination of construction activities on active projects. This full-time, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality infrastructure while collaborating with a diverse team of professionals, including consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to technical excellence, adherence to project specifications, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Supervision and Execution: Oversee daily construction activities to ensure alignment with approved drawings, project specifications, and method statements, maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and compliance.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Conduct rigorous inspections, prepare and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and address non-conformances through Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and punch lists, ensuring defects are resolved promptly and efficiently.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration among consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges, mitigate risks, and ensure adherence to project timelines and milestones.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare, review, and submit critical documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements, while maintaining accurate records of site progress and activities.
- Progress Tracking and Planning: Monitor and document daily and weekly progress, support look-ahead planning, and verify quantities on site to facilitate precise BOQ take-offs and progress billing measurements.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Uphold rigorous Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, ensuring strict adherence to permit-to-work procedures and fostering a culture of safety across the project site.
- Testing and Commissioning Support: Assist in site testing protocols, readiness assessments for commissioning, and the preparation of as-built documentation to ensure project deliverables meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Procurement and Logistics Assistance: Support procurement processes, including follow-ups on material deliveries and logistics coordination, to ensure timely availability of resources and uninterrupted project progress.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture from a recognized institution.
- Professional Experience: Up to one year of practical experience in site-based roles, with a focus on building projects encompassing structural and/or finishing works.
- Local Compliance: Must be based in Saudi Arabia, with eligibility to work on-site in Riyadh.
- Professional Registration: Valid membership or eligibility for registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to support documentation and reporting tasks.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures, ITPs, and HSE practices, ensuring full compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
