WTP Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WTP Engineer to oversee and manage all operational aspects of our Water Treatment Plants (WTP) for M.S, HRMC, and HRMD. This critical role reports directly to the Utility & Planning Manager and involves supervising a team of foremen while ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of our water treatment facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and Operational Oversight: Establish and enforce process work standards to optimize the performance of all Water Treatment Plants under your supervision. Verify equipment conditions, monitor operating parameters, and ensure adherence to internal work standards.
• Technical Leadership and Support: Provide expert technical guidance and support to resolve complex operational challenges. Act as the primary point of contact for all technical matters related to water treatment processes, equipment functionality, and system improvements.
• Team Management and Development: Supervise and evaluate the performance of the Utility Day Shift Foreman and WTP Foreman. Ensure that all personnel receive comprehensive training on internal work standards, safety protocols, and operational best practices. Address personnel issues with fairness and equity to maintain a productive and motivated workforce.
• Daily Operations and Reporting: Review and follow up on daily reports submitted by the Day Foreman. Calculate and analyze plant consumption metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement. Ensure that all required consumables and materials are available to support uninterrupted operations.
• Safety and Environmental Compliance: Uphold and enforce rigorous safety and environmental precautions in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits to verify compliance and mitigate risks associated with water treatment processes.
• Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate seamless communication between internal departments to ensure alignment on operational goals and resource allocation. Collaborate with external service providers to coordinate maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with a specialization in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential for effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Technical Competencies: Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with process control systems, data analysis tools, and reporting software. Five years of hands-on experience in water treatment plant operations or a related field is required.
• Leadership and Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, resolve personnel issues, and implement solutions to operational challenges. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are critical for maintaining optimal plant performance.
• Safety and Compliance: A proactive approach to safety management, with a deep understanding of environmental regulations and best practices in water treatment.
