Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineer, Planning to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and monitoring project planning activities with precision, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Your expertise will drive the successful execution of departmental operational plans and strategic developments, contributing to the overall growth and efficiency of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Engineer, Planning will play a critical role in the following areas:

• Policies & Procedures:
  • Ensure strict compliance with established policies and guidelines to implement robust cost control and schedule management practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align planning methodologies with company standards and industry best practices.
• Project Schedule Management:
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, including baseline, revisions, and recovery plans, in accordance with schedule best practices.
  • Create detailed project schedules, work breakdown structures, and weightages aligned with Alfanar’s Planning Manuals for effective monitoring and control.
  • Generate and maintain forecasting reports based on trend analysis throughout the project lifecycle to assess project health and identify potential risks.
• Project Budget & Cost Control:
  • Develop and maintain accurate project cash flow and forecasting reports using trend analysis to ensure financial viability.
  • Create and manage project cost structures and breakdowns (including tender budgets) in SAP to enforce cost control procedures.
  • Reconcile and analyze project budget revisions in close coordination with the Finance department, providing consultative support for the verification of estimates such as Actual Cost, Plan POC, and Actual POC.
• Project Reporting & Analysis:
  • Analyze project schedules and cost reports to determine optimal reporting frequencies for stakeholders, tailored to the criticality of deliverables on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
  • Present periodic reports detailing deviations, execution status, and planned task performance to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving & Quality Assurance:
  • Address operational challenges proactively and escalate complex issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes to meet product, process, and activity specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Process Improvement & Compliance:
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and work instructions to maintain operational integrity.
  • Uphold health, safety, and environmental management standards within the defined scope of work to guarantee a safe, compliant, and high-quality work environment.

Qualifications & Competencies

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in project planning, scheduling, and cost control within a corporate or industrial environment.
• Technical Competencies:
  • Proficient in cost control methodologies and project planning tools.
  • Strong expertise in project scheduling, including the use of industry-standard software and SAP for budget and cost management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and operational data to drive informed decision-making.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to obtain and apply updated technical and soft skills to enhance job performance and career growth.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering results within defined timelines and budgets.
