Key Responsibilities

The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide range of ultrasound imaging procedures across various departments, including obstetrics, cardiology, vascular, and general radiology. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Image Acquisition and Archiving: Conduct ultrasound scans to produce high-resolution images, ensuring they are properly recorded and archived in the designated systems. Transfer images as required for further analysis or consultation.
• Quality Assurance and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain rigorous quality control standards by keeping accurate records and participating in routine equipment testing and maintenance. Diagnose minor malfunctions and coordinate repairs to ensure optimal functionality of ultrasound equipment.
• Collaboration with Radiologists: Review patient clinical information alongside captured images with radiologists to facilitate accurate diagnoses. Print images onto appropriate media as needed for patient records or further review.
• Departmental Compliance: Adhere to departmental standards for Quality Assurance controls, including infection prevention protocols, sterile techniques, and universal precautions to maintain a safe and aseptic environment.
• Patient Care and Education: Provide compassionate patient care, ensuring comfort and dignity throughout procedures. Educate patients and their families about the ultrasound process, results, and any necessary follow-up actions, fostering a positive healthcare experience.
• Administrative Duties: Complete all required forms, logs, and reports related to performed procedures. Maintain organized records to support clinical decision-making and regulatory compliance.
• Professional Development and Training: Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental training programs by mentoring new staff on ultrasound systems and departmental protocols.
• Flexible Scheduling and Confidentiality: Demonstrate adaptability by adhering to on-call, holiday, and weekend schedules as assigned. Uphold strict patient confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements such as KSA, local mandates, JCIA, and CBAHI standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or Ultrasonography from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in a hospital setting, with a proven track record in performing diverse ultrasound procedures.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment, including the ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues and perform routine maintenance.
• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams. Attention to detail, organizational abilities, and a commitment to continuous learning are essential.
• Certifications and Compliance: Valid professional certifications as required by local and international standards. Adherence to ethical practices and regulatory guidelines is mandatory.
