Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechatronics Senior Engineer to lead our RM Team and provide expert technical support for automated material handling equipment across warehouses and distribution centers. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with PLC Engineers, Software Developers, and Software Support Engineers to ensure the seamless installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical and electrical systems. Your deep understanding of electrical and mechanical principles, motors, drivers, belts, and bearings will be instrumental in optimizing system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Coordination: Oversee all activities of the RM Team, ensuring efficient execution of maintenance and repair tasks for automated systems.
• System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct on-site maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and align electrical and mechanical components of automated systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Software Interface Management: Clear and manage interfaces between electrical/mechanical systems and software to ensure seamless integration and operation.
• Customer Communication: Engage effectively with customers in high-impact scenarios, providing clear and professional updates on system status, issues, and resolutions.
• Process Improvement: Develop and maintain standards and tools for hardware projects, driving continuous improvement in system efficiency and reliability.
• Supplier and Subcontractor Oversight: Monitor external suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services, adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze automated system machine performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
• Safety and Access Compliance: Safely navigate warehouse and distribution center environments, including ladders, metal stairs, catwalks, and temporary structures, to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Root Cause Analysis: Assist in identifying the root causes of faults and production errors, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaboration and Uptime Optimization: Work collaboratively with onsite staff and software developers to ensure maximum system uptime and operational efficiency.
• Report Analysis and Improvement: Review daily operation reports to identify trends, track performance metrics, and propose data-driven improvements.
• Training and Knowledge Sharing: Train internal and external customers to enhance system knowledge, resolve issues independently, and prevent recurring problems.
• Ticketing System Management: Utilize the help-desk ticketing system to track, monitor, and resolve issues in a timely and organized manner.
• Documentation and Reporting: Update system manuals and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and improvements.
• Meeting Participation: Attend and actively participate in meetings to discuss system performance, project updates, and strategic initiatives.
• Flexible Work Schedule: Perform extended hours, weekend, and holiday work as needed to support customer service, urgent repairs, or change requests.
• Independent Work Ethic: Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of tasks and delivering results efficiently.

Work Environment

This role operates primarily in an indoor setting (80% of the time), with occasional outdoor exposure (20%) to address system issues in warehouse and distribution environments. The position follows a rotating shift schedule, with 6 working days and 1 day off per week. Daily working hours are 8 hours, including a 1-hour break.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: A 3-year degree in Mechatronics, Electronic and Mechanical Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in equipment maintenance, preferably within automation systems.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite and computer skills relevant to system monitoring and reporting.
• Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Arabic is required to effectively communicate with diverse teams and customers.
