Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Group Accounting to join Qiddiya Investment Company in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in overseeing and streamlining the group’s accounting operations, ensuring compliance with international financial standards, and contributing to strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare, review, and consolidate financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements. Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to stakeholders, including senior management and external auditors.
- Group Accounting Oversight: Manage the accounting processes for multiple subsidiaries within the group, including intercompany reconciliations, consolidation of financial data, and variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Internal Controls and Audit Support: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to accounting policies. Assist in coordinating internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation, and addressing audit findings proactively.
- Strategic Financial Analysis: Collaborate with the finance leadership team to analyze financial performance, assess risks, and recommend cost-saving measures or process improvements. Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives.
- Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of financial close processes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the accounting department and other business units, providing clear and concise financial insights to support informed decision-making. Present financial updates to senior management and participate in strategic discussions.
- Technology and Innovation: Leverage accounting software and ERP systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in group accounting to drive digital transformation.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CMA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a group accounting environment.
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, consolidation, and compliance with IFRS or GAAP standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing accounting team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Hyperion) and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism in all financial dealings.
