Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records while providing strategic guidance to senior management. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Financial Oversight: Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support long-term business objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and supervise a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Drive professional development initiatives to enhance team capabilities.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and executive leadership, providing clear insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, leverage technology, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Audit & Assurance Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes, address findings, and implement corrective actions to strengthen financial integrity.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within a multinational or fast-paced corporate environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of financial systems, ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with IFRS and local regulatory frameworks is essential.
• Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities are required.
