We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Director of Engineering to oversee the engineering operations for the prestigious Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless functionality, sustainability, and luxury experience that define Four Seasons’ global reputation. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for directing all engineering functions, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, automation, and sustainability initiatives, while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Engineering will play a critical role in shaping the operational infrastructure of this iconic destination. Your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with Four Seasons’ brand standards and AMAALA’s sustainability goals. Lead long-term planning for infrastructure upgrades, energy efficiency, and technological advancements to enhance guest and resident experiences.
• Operational Oversight: Direct the day-to-day operations of the engineering department, ensuring all systems—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and automation—are maintained to the highest standards. Oversee preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and compliance with local and international regulations.
• Team Management: Lead a high-performing team of engineers, technicians, and support staff. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement, while providing mentorship and professional development opportunities for your team.
• Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the engineering department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality. Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to optimize resource allocation and procurement strategies.
• Sustainability and Innovation: Champion sustainability initiatives, including energy conservation, waste reduction, and the integration of smart technologies. Work closely with AMAALA’s sustainability team to achieve the project’s environmental goals and reduce the resort’s carbon footprint.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between the engineering department and other key stakeholders, including property management, facilities, housekeeping, and external vendors. Ensure seamless communication and coordination to deliver exceptional service and operational efficiency.
• Guest and Resident Experience: Ensure that all engineering systems contribute to an unparalleled guest and resident experience. Address any operational issues promptly to minimize disruptions and maintain the resort’s reputation for luxury and comfort.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a passion for hospitality excellence. The ideal candidate will possess:

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, or CIBSE) are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role within the hospitality, luxury real estate, or high-end resort industry.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale engineering operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and automation systems, with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience in budgeting, cost control, and resource optimization.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically in high-pressure situations. A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Familiarity with local regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance requirements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a plus.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools, as well as experience with smart building technologies and IoT integration.
