Key Responsibilities

The Senior Project Engineer – Waste Management will play a central role in the planning, execution, and delivery of waste management projects. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Project Leadership: Lead and manage end-to-end waste management projects, from initial concept and feasibility studies to final implementation and handover, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Technical Expertise: Provide specialized technical guidance in waste management systems, including waste collection, transportation, treatment, recycling, and disposal methodologies, while incorporating the latest industry best practices and technological advancements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, regional, and international environmental regulations, safety standards, and sustainability frameworks, including those set by the Saudi Green Initiative and other relevant authorities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients, government agencies, contractors, and internal teams to align project objectives, address challenges, and foster long-term partnerships that drive project success.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions, ensuring the smooth progression of projects while maintaining operational efficiency and safety.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Drive the adoption of sustainable waste management practices, such as circular economy principles, waste-to-energy solutions, and advanced recycling technologies, to enhance project outcomes and environmental impact.
• Team Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and project staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and excellence within the team.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Waste Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in waste management projects, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role. Experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in waste management software, CAD tools, and project management methodologies. Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and sustainability reporting is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with a strong commitment to ethical practices and corporate social responsibility.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
