We are seeking a skilled and proactive Control Operator to join our team, where your expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing control systems and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) will be instrumental in sustaining safe, reliable, and uninterrupted plant operations. In this critical role, you will serve as the backbone of our operational efficiency, ensuring that all control equipment and systems function at peak performance while adhering to the highest safety and compliance standards. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of technical and operational tasks, from preventive and corrective maintenance to real-time monitoring and system configuration, all aimed at minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Key Responsibilities

As a Control Operator, your core duties will include:

• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on control systems, DCS equipment, and related components to ensure optimal functionality. Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to prevent operational disruptions.
• System Monitoring and Performance Verification: Continuously monitor control room systems and verify the performance of all equipment to identify anomalies or deviations. Proactively address potential issues before they escalate into critical failures.
• Safety and Interlock Testing: Conduct regular testing of protection, safety, and interlock signals to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Verify that all safety mechanisms are operational and effective.
• System Configuration and Logic Modification: Configure and modify POLCID control logic to align with operational requirements and process improvements. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement updates and enhancements.
• Instrument Calibration and Accuracy: Calibrate field instruments and verify measurement accuracy to maintain the integrity of process data. Ensure that all instrumentation meets industry standards and operational specifications.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed maintenance reports and technical documentation to record all activities, findings, and resolutions. Maintain accurate logs for audits, compliance, and future reference.
• Coordination and Planning: Coordinate maintenance activities and manage spare parts requirements to ensure timely availability of critical components. Work closely with cross-functional teams to align maintenance schedules with production demands.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure strict adherence to safety, operational, and environmental standards. Implement best practices in process control and automation to enhance overall system reliability.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial control systems, with at least 1 year of direct experience working with POLCID systems.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in DCS, PLC, instrumentation, calibration, and troubleshooting within industrial environments. Familiarity with process control and automation systems is essential.
• Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in the cement industry or other heavy industrial sectors is highly advantageous, as it provides valuable insights into the unique challenges and operational demands of such environments.
