Patient Care Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our healthcare team. Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Clinical Environment Management: Prepare and maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment daily, ensuring all supplies and equipment are readily available for patient care procedures.
• Physician and Patient Support: Assist physicians during patient examinations by preparing and arranging necessary equipment, facilitating efficient clinical procedures, and ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the facility.
• Administrative Coordination: Manage and coordinate clinic activities, including patient scheduling, admissions, referrals, and documentation. Ensure all required forms, claims, and referrals are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Patient Advocacy and Education: Provide patients and their families with essential education regarding their care plans, treatment procedures, and follow-up requirements. Guide patients to relevant departments for investigations and ensure they receive written information as needed.
• Communication and Documentation: Answer incoming calls professionally, relay messages accurately, and respond to general inquiries from visitors. Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with nursing policies and regulatory standards.
• Patient Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to JCIA/CBAHI patient safety standards, infection control protocols, and HMG nursing documentation policies. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Emergency Response: Initiate emergency and resuscitative measures when necessary, ensuring prompt and effective intervention to safeguard patient well-being.
• Procedural Support: Perform a range of nursing procedures within the scope of practice for a PCT, including:
  • Monitoring vital signs, pulse oximetry, and patient weight/height.
  • Conducting glucometer checks and ECG-pain assessments.
  • Assisting with patient assessments and responding to inquiries within the defined scope of practice.
• Professional Development: Attend mandatory meetings, educational activities, and training sessions to maintain and enhance your clinical competencies. Stay updated with the latest healthcare practices and regulatory requirements.
• Team Collaboration: Report any observations or concerns regarding a patient’s condition to the Charge Nurse or supervisor without delay. Participate actively in person-centered care initiatives to enhance the overall patient experience.

Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science. Completion of a recognized Patient Care Technician (PCT) program is required.
• Licensing and Certification: Possess a valid license from the Saudi Council for Health Specialties. Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
• Experience: Prior healthcare experience is preferred, though fresh graduates with a strong interest in healthcare are encouraged to apply. A passion for patient care and a commitment to professional growth are essential.
