Your Role in a World-Class Team

Your role will involve supporting the development of comprehensive fire safety strategies, from initial concept design through to construction and completion. You will gain hands-on experience in applying local and international fire codes, conducting advanced fire engineering calculations, and integrating cutting-edge fire protection systems into cohesive design solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Fire Safety Strategy Development: Assist in crafting performance-based fire safety strategies that align with project ambitions while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as NFPA, BS, and Saudi Building Code.
• Technical Analysis and Modeling: Perform detailed fire engineering calculations, including smoke modeling and evacuation analysis, utilizing both hand calculations and advanced simulation tools to validate design assumptions.
• System Integration: Contribute to the selection and integration of fire detection, suppression, and control systems, ensuring seamless coordination with architectural and structural designs.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and sustainability specialists to deliver holistic, client-focused solutions that balance safety, functionality, and innovation.
• Regulatory Engagement: Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies in Saudi Arabia to secure approvals and ensure that projects meet all statutory requirements.
• Site Involvement: Participate in site visits to monitor the implementation of fire engineering strategies, troubleshoot on-site challenges, and ensure that design intent is realized in construction.
• Client and Stakeholder Communication: Represent Buro Happold in technical discussions and presentations, translating complex fire engineering concepts into clear, actionable insights for clients and stakeholders.

Who You Are

We are seeking a motivated and analytical graduate with a strong foundation in fire engineering principles. Ideal candidates will possess:

• A Master’s degree in Fire Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with a demonstrated passion for fire safety engineering.
