About the Role
The Information Technology Infrastructure Team Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing a robust, hybrid IT environment that integrates Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, on-premises data centers, enterprise networks, servers, storage, and mission-critical business systems. This leadership position is responsible for the strategic design, governance, security, and modernization of our IT infrastructure, ensuring operational resilience and seamless service delivery across the group. The ideal candidate will lead infrastructure operations, support both cloud and on-premises platforms, enhance cybersecurity controls, and oversee Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery initiatives. Additionally, the role involves mentoring the IT support team to deliver high-quality enterprise IT services that align with business objectives and technological advancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Hybrid Infrastructure Management: Architect, administer, and maintain a hybrid IT environment that spans on-premises data centers and Microsoft Azure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Cloud and Identity Services: Manage Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Entra ID, identity governance, authentication services, and access control to safeguard digital assets and streamline user access.
- Network Infrastructure: Configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure, including VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, switches, routers, and secure connectivity solutions to support seamless business operations across locations.
- Endpoint and Device Management: Implement and manage Microsoft Intune for device enrollment, endpoint compliance, application deployment, and enforcement of security policies to protect organizational endpoints.
- Business Application Support: Manage infrastructure supporting critical business applications, including Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and eFront, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Database and Server Administration: Administer Microsoft SQL Server environments, monitor database performance, and execute system optimization activities to maintain data integrity and operational efficiency.
- Core Infrastructure Services: Oversee core infrastructure services such as Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, IIS, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Active Directory, and IP Address Management to support daily business operations.
- Telephony and Communication Systems: Administer IPPBX and IP Telephony infrastructure to ensure reliable and efficient communication across the organization.
- Virtualization and Storage Management: Lead the management of virtualization platforms and SAN storage infrastructure to support scalable and resilient IT operations.
- Security and Compliance: Strengthen endpoint security, patch management, system hardening, change management, incident management, and infrastructure security standards to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Design, implement, and test robust Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategies, including backup validation, recovery testing, and failover simulations to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and support the IT infrastructure and support teams to foster technical excellence, innovation, and effective service delivery.
- Vendor and Procurement Coordination: Collaborate with vendors, ISPs, and internal stakeholders to manage software licensing, infrastructure procurement, and remote IT operations efficiently.
- Documentation and Standards: Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), asset inventories, infrastructure standards, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure transparency and accountability.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in IT Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or Network Engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership, supervisory, or team lead capacity.
- Certifications (Required):
- Cisco CCNA
- Microsoft AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer Associate
- Preferred Skills: Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows Server (2016–2022), IIS, Microsoft Exchange, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, virtualization platforms, SAN storage, enterprise firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, L2/L3 switching, routing, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
