Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Storekeeper to join our team and oversee the efficient management of our inventory and warehouse operations. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring the proper storage and preservation of materials, and facilitating seamless material movements across departments and project sites. Your expertise in inventory control and warehouse management will contribute to the smooth functioning of our supply chain, supporting our operational objectives and minimizing disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Receiving and Inspection: Accurately receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, equipment, and supplies by verifying them against purchase orders and delivery notes to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Stock Record Maintenance: Maintain precise inventory records and stock levels within the ERP or inventory management system, ensuring real-time visibility and minimizing discrepancies.
- Stock Monitoring and Reconciliation: Proactively monitor stock movement, conduct periodic inventory counts, and perform reconciliation to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly, thereby safeguarding asset integrity.
- Storage and Preservation: Organize and maintain an optimal warehouse layout for efficient storage, ensuring materials are properly identified, labeled, and preserved to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss.
Warehouse and Store Operations
- Layout Optimization: Design and maintain a well-structured warehouse layout that enhances accessibility, streamlines storage and retrieval processes, and maximizes operational efficiency.
- Material Issuance: Process and issue materials to project teams and departments based on approved requisitions, ensuring timely availability while adhering to inventory policies and procedures.
- Documentation of Movements: Ensure all material movements are accurately documented, authorized, and tracked, maintaining a clear audit trail for accountability and compliance.
- Inter-Site Coordination: Facilitate the transfer of materials between project sites and the central warehouse as required, coordinating logistics to support operational continuity and resource allocation.
Documentation and Reporting
- Record Maintenance: Prepare and maintain comprehensive records, including Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips (MIS), stock reports, and inventory summaries, in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Report Generation: Develop and submit periodic inventory and consumption reports to management, providing actionable insights into stock levels, usage patterns, and potential risks.
- Audit Support: Assist internal and external auditors during inventory assessments, providing documentation, clarifications, and access to facilitate thorough and accurate evaluations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in storekeeping, warehouse operations, or inventory management, with a proven track record of maintaining accurate records and optimizing storage processes.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory management software, and standard office applications is highly desirable.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
