MEP Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Site MEP Engineer to lead and oversee all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities throughout the construction process. The ideal candidate will ensure that MEP installations are executed in strict accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, regulatory codes, quality benchmarks, and project timelines. This role demands close collaboration with consultants, contractors, and cross-functional teams to deliver seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Supervision & Compliance: Oversee all MEP works on-site to guarantee adherence to approved drawings, technical specifications, and contractual obligations.
• Documentation Review: Evaluate MEP shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with civil, structural, architectural, and other project teams to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections to verify installation quality, workmanship, and compliance with project standards and regulatory requirements.
• Performance Monitoring: Track contractor performance to ensure MEP works are completed on schedule and meet project milestones.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Address and resolve technical challenges to maintain uninterrupted project progress.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all MEP installations comply with local regulations, international codes, health and safety protocols, and QA/QC procedures.
• Testing & Commissioning: Review and witness testing, commissioning, and functional performance of MEP systems to validate system readiness.
• Documentation Management: Prepare and review inspection requests (IRs), testing reports, snag lists, punch lists, and close-out documentation to ensure project completeness.
• Progress Reporting: Participate in coordination meetings, provide technical support, and deliver progress reports with actionable recommendations.
• As-Built Verification: Review as-built drawings and validate completed installations prior to project handover.
• Change Management: Evaluate technical variations, change orders, and site modifications to assess their impact on project scope and timelines.
• Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous documentation of inspections, approvals, testing records, and site activities for audit and compliance purposes.
• System Handover Support: Facilitate the successful commissioning and handover of all MEP systems to ensure operational readiness.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or MEP Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in supervising MEP works across commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power, lighting, low-current systems, and building services.
• Regulatory Expertise: Proficiency in local and international building codes, MEP standards, and engineering best practices.
• Certification: Professional engineering registration or relevant accreditation is highly preferred.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Software Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Drawing & Model Review: Ability to analyze coordinated MEP drawings, BIM models, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
• Testing & QA/QC: Knowledge of testing, commissioning, quality assurance/quality control procedures, and inspection protocols.
• Project Management Tools: Experience with project management and document control software is a plus.
