Room Care Technician – Engineering – Jumeirah Jabal Omar

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Room Care Technician to join our Engineering team at Jumeirah Jabal Omar in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and operational efficiency across all guest rooms and public areas. Your expertise will contribute directly to delivering an exceptional guest experience while maintaining the property’s reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine inspections and promptly address any maintenance issues, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general room repairs, to ensure all areas meet the property’s standards.
• Guest Room Preparation: Prepare guest rooms for arrivals by conducting thorough inspections, addressing deficiencies, and ensuring all amenities are fully functional and presentable.
• Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize disruptions and extend the lifespan of equipment and fixtures, thereby reducing long-term operational costs.
• Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to emergency maintenance requests, including after-hours calls, to resolve issues and restore normal operations with minimal guest inconvenience.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols, health regulations, and company policies to maintain a secure and compliant work environment. Ensure compliance with fire safety, electrical, and mechanical standards.
• Guest Interaction: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests, addressing their concerns promptly and ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during their stay.
• Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring seamless operations and timely resolution of issues.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, and report any recurring issues or trends to the Engineering Manager for proactive resolution.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or related fields is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality or facilities management industry, with a proven track record in maintenance and repairs.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong technical skills in troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of systems and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general carpentry.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions under pressure, ensuring minimal disruption to guest experiences.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues alike.
• Physical Requirements: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; additional proficiency in Arabic or other languages is a plus.
