Position Overview

Airbus S.A.S is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automated Drilling Unit (ADU) Technician/Mechanic (Contract) to join our dynamic team in Al-Qatif, Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities

The Automated Drilling Unit Technician/Mechanic will be responsible for a wide range of technical duties, including but not limited to:

• System Maintenance and Inspection: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and calibration of automated drilling units to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues within ADU systems, executing timely repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
• Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system upgrades, ensuring compliance with Airbus’s documentation protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, system upgrades, and efficiency enhancements in automated drilling operations.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and environmental regulations to ensure a secure and compliant work environment.
• Training and Knowledge Transfer: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians or operational staff on the proper use, maintenance, and safety procedures associated with ADU systems.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of automated drilling units, CNC machinery, or similar industrial equipment. Familiarity with Siemens, Fanuc, or Heidenhain control systems is highly desirable.
• Mechanical and Electrical Proficiency: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulic circuits, and electrical components, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions under pressure.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field are preferred. Certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent are advantageous.
• Safety Awareness: A keen focus on safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a hazard-free work environment.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly.
• Contractual Flexibility: Willingness to work on a contract basis, with the ability to adapt to varying project durations and operational demands.

Work Environment

The Automated Drilling Unit Technician/Mechanic will operate within Airbus’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Al-Qatif, Saudi Arabia. The role involves a combination of fieldwork, workshop tasks, and collaboration with production teams in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
