Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Cost Control Engineer at SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering, your core responsibilities will include:

• Cost Management and Monitoring: Develop, implement, and maintain robust cost control systems to track project expenditures, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and financial targets. • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare comprehensive cost reports, including monthly and quarterly financial updates, for stakeholders and senior management. Present findings in a clear and concise manner, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Change Management: Evaluate and process change orders, assessing their financial impact on project budgets. Work closely with contract administrators to ensure compliance with contractual terms and mitigate disputes related to cost adjustments.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential cost risks and develop proactive strategies to minimize their impact on project profitability. Conduct thorough risk analyses and recommend corrective actions to maintain financial stability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between project teams, finance departments, and senior leadership to facilitate transparent communication and alignment on financial objectives. Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Cost Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CCE (Certified Cost Engineer), CCP (Certified Cost Professional), or equivalent are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in cost control, cost engineering, or financial management within the engineering, construction, or oil and gas sectors. Experience in a multinational or large-scale project environment is preferred.
• Proficiency in cost control software such as Primavera P6, SAP, or similar ERP systems, as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely financial insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders effectively. Fluency in English is required; additional language proficiency is a plus.
