In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and equipment across our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the mechanical infrastructure of our production facilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to proactively identify and address potential mechanical issues before they escalate. Utilize predictive maintenance techniques, such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and lubrication analysis, to enhance equipment reliability and extend asset lifespan.
- Corrective Maintenance: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical failures and malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize production disruptions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective corrective actions and ensure swift restoration of operations.
- Equipment Installation and Commissioning: Participate in the installation, commissioning, and validation of new mechanical equipment and systems. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies throughout the process.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment histories. Prepare detailed technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance manuals, and troubleshooting guides, to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, as well as company policies and industry standards. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and equipment inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective measures. Promote a culture of safety and accountability among team members.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing equipment performance data, identifying trends, and proposing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to address recurring issues and prevent future occurrences.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to align maintenance strategies with operational goals. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), ISO 55000) are advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or industrial sector. Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and industrial machinery. Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and maintenance software is required. Familiarity with CAD software and PLC systems is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in root cause analysis and failure mode identification is essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Certifications: Valid professional certifications in mechanical maintenance, reliability engineering, or related fields are preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
