Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Cyber Security Project Manager to spearhead critical cybersecurity initiatives across Trading, Forex, Brokerage, and Financial Services platforms. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of cybersecurity projects from inception to completion, ensuring the protection of mission-critical systems while maintaining strict adherence to financial regulations and industry security standards. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of advanced project management expertise and in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, coupled with extensive experience in highly regulated financial environments.
Key Responsibilities
The Cyber Security Project Manager will play a central role in driving the organization’s cybersecurity agenda by leading a wide range of security initiatives. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Project Leadership: Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of cybersecurity projects tailored to Trading, Forex, Brokerage, and Financial Services platforms.
- Security Initiative Management: Lead projects focused on Identity and Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Operations Center (SOC), Endpoint Security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Cloud Security, Network Security, Zero Trust architecture, and Vulnerability Management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Information Security, Infrastructure, Trading Technology, DevOps, Application Development, Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, and business teams to ensure seamless integration of security controls across all platforms.
- Platform Integration: Ensure robust security measures are embedded within trading platforms, payment gateways, client portals, APIs, mobile applications, and cloud environments to safeguard sensitive data and operations.
- Strategic Security Initiatives: Drive security projects that support electronic trading platforms, FIX connectivity, market data services, payment processing, and digital customer channels, aligning with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
- Project Governance and Reporting: Develop comprehensive project plans, manage budgets, maintain RAID logs, produce governance reports, executive dashboards, and detailed project documentation to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Oversee relationships with third-party cybersecurity vendors, implementation partners, penetration testing providers, and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Compliance and Resilience: Coordinate vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, security audits, remediation activities, and regulatory compliance initiatives to mitigate risks and enhance cyber resilience. Lead projects focused on business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response readiness to ensure operational continuity.
- Remediation and Reporting: Ensure timely execution of remediation projects stemming from audits, regulatory inspections, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing, while providing regular updates and executive reporting to senior leadership and governance committees.
Qualifications and Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of project management experience, with a proven track record in delivering cybersecurity projects.
- Industry Expertise: Demonstrated experience within Trading, Forex, Brokerage, Capital Markets, or Financial Services environments.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of cybersecurity domains, including IAM, PAM, SIEM, SOC, DLP, Cloud Security, Network Security, Endpoint Security, Zero Trust, and Vulnerability Management.
- Platform-Specific Experience: Hands-on experience delivering security projects for trading platforms, payment systems, APIs, and cloud-based environments.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial regulations, cybersecurity frameworks, and compliance requirements such as PCI DSS, GDPR, SOX, and NIST.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional planning, budgeting, risk management, communication, and stakeholder management skills to effectively lead cross-functional teams and engage with executive stakeholders.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, CISSP, or CISM are highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
