Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our dynamic clinical laboratory team. In this pivotal role, you will perform a diverse range of chemical, microscopic, immunological, and bacteriological tests to generate precise and reliable data essential for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Your expertise will directly contribute to patient care by ensuring the highest standards of laboratory operations, quality control, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

The Medical Technologist will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including:

• Laboratory Operations and Workflow Management: Organize daily work in alignment with the schedules and workflows of the laboratory subsection or section. Collaborate with the section supervisor to facilitate seamless inter-shift, inter-sectional, and departmental communication. Ensure the availability of optimal supply levels to maintain uninterrupted laboratory services, assist in supply procurement, and manage inventory systems while adhering to cost-effective practices.
• Methodology and Equipment Evaluation: Assist in the assessment and implementation of new testing methodologies and equipment. Contribute to the revision and updating of policy and procedure manuals in accordance with established guidelines and best practices.
• Specimen Processing and Testing: Accurately obtain, process, and analyze laboratory specimens using advanced techniques and equipment. Maintain rigorous adherence to laboratory safety protocols and practices to ensure a secure working environment for all staff and patients.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Maintain meticulous records in compliance with hospital-established Medical Laboratory standards. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure precision and reliability. Actively participate in and oversee Quality Control programs within the section while contributing to the broader Quality Assurance initiatives of the department. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and protocols, including those set by CBAHI, JCI, CAP, SFDA, and other international accreditation agencies.
• Professional Development and Training: Provide constructive feedback as part of the hospital’s employee performance appraisal system. Train, mentor, and educate students, residents, and other healthcare personnel to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Engage in ongoing self-education and training to stay current with advancements in medical technology and laboratory science.
• Administrative and Collaborative Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned, including but not limited to participating in interdisciplinary meetings, contributing to research initiatives, and supporting departmental initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Sciences is required.
• Experience:
  • Grade 08: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is required for candidates at this level.
• Certifications and Licensure:
  • Current registration from the country of origin and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is mandatory.
  • Professional certification such as MT(ASCP), CLS(NCA), or equivalent is required for American candidates. Canadian applicants must hold ART or Medical Technologist certification, British candidates must be registered with AIMLS, Australian candidates with AIMS, New Zealand candidates with NZIMLT, or equivalent for other international applicants.
