IT Network Security Officer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Network Security Officer to join our organization’s cybersecurity team. Key Responsibilities

As an IT Network Security Officer, your core duties will include:

• Network Security Controls: Implement, administer, and monitor advanced network security controls in strict adherence to ISO 27001 standards, ensuring the highest levels of protection for our digital assets.
• Network Infrastructure Management: Oversee and secure critical network components, including firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, Network Access Control (NAC), wireless security systems, DNS, DHCP, and remote access solutions.
• Access and Segmentation: Maintain secure network segmentation, enforce stringent access controls, manage routing policies, and implement traffic filtering to mitigate potential security risks.
• Incident Response: Monitor network security in real-time, respond promptly to incidents, conduct thorough investigations, and coordinate remediation efforts with cross-functional IT teams to minimize operational disruptions.
• Security Monitoring and Visibility: Ensure continuous network visibility by managing log systems, integrating Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions, and maintaining proactive security monitoring protocols.
• Security Reviews and Audits: Perform comprehensive security reviews, configuration audits, firewall rule assessments, and vulnerability remediation to identify and address potential weaknesses in the network infrastructure.
• Third-Party and Cloud Connectivity: Facilitate secure connectivity for external partners, cloud environments, VPNs, and disaster recovery infrastructure, ensuring seamless and protected operations across all platforms.
• Change Management Support: Collaborate with IT teams to assess the security implications of network modifications, deployments, and infrastructure changes, ensuring that all updates align with security best practices.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain meticulous records of network security documentation, incident reports, and audit evidence to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT Governance and compliance teams to ensure alignment with security policies, industry standards, and regulatory mandates, fostering a culture of security awareness across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network administration, with a strong focus on network security operations.
• Proven expertise in managing and securing firewalls, routing and switching infrastructure, VPNs, wireless networks, and secure connectivity solutions.
