Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist – Site Implementation and Compliance

We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to oversee the comprehensive implementation of EHS initiatives at our site. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with corporate policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements while fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining operational excellence, mitigating risks, and safeguarding the well-being of our workforce and the surrounding community.

Key Responsibilities

The EHS Specialist will play a central role in driving site-level EHS initiatives through the following core responsibilities:

• End-to-End EHS Implementation: Execute, monitor, and maintain all site-level EHS plans, procedures, and compliance obligations in strict alignment with corporate policies and applicable legal frameworks. Ensure that all operational activities adhere to established safety and environmental standards.
• Regulatory Compliance and Documentation Management: Oversee the maintenance of all necessary permits, licenses, and regulatory documentation. Act as the primary interface with statutory authorities during inspections, audits, and compliance assessments. Proactively address any findings to ensure zero non-compliances and maintain the site’s regulatory standing.
• Risk Identification and Control: Lead the systematic identification of workplace hazards through comprehensive Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA). Develop and implement robust mitigation measures to eliminate or minimize risks. Conduct regular inspections of work areas to identify unsafe conditions, equipment, or practices, and recommend corrective actions to prevent incidents.
• Incident Management and Continuous Improvement: Serve as the lead investigator for all EHS-related incidents, including near-misses, accidents, and environmental deviations. Perform detailed root cause analyses to determine underlying causes and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.
• Training and Awareness Development: Design, organize, and deliver site-specific EHS induction programs, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors. Tailor training content to address site-specific risks and operational challenges. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and adjust programs as needed to enhance engagement and knowledge retention.
