Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous and driven Accountant to strengthen our finance team in Jeddah. The successful candidate will bring a robust accounting background, sharp analytical abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic retail or trading environment while upholding the highest standards of accuracy and regulatory compliance in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closings.
• Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
• Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and other financial discrepancies with precision.
• Generate and present financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Leverage ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV, or other accounting software to streamline financial operations and enhance data integrity.
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance analysis.
• Support internal and external audits by ensuring all documentation and records are complete, accurate, and readily available.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems to drive efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with a preference for candidates from English-language programs.
• Minimum of 2 to 4 years of hands-on accounting experience in a professional setting.
• Prior experience in the retail or trading sector is highly advantageous.
• In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their practical application.
• Exceptional proficiency in financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend identification, and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics NAV, or comparable accounting software solutions.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
