Requirements Manager – Airport

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Requirements Manager – Airport to spearhead requirements management for a transformative airport technology program. This pivotal leadership role is designed for professionals who are passionate about shaping the future of airport operations, enhancing passenger experiences, and driving operational excellence through strategic requirements governance. As a Requirements Manager, you will collaborate with a diverse team of stakeholders, including airport leadership, airlines, solution architects, business analysts, and technology vendors, to ensure that business, operational, and technical requirements are meticulously captured, governed, prioritized, and delivered across multiple airport workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

The Requirements Manager will play a central role in the following areas:

• End-to-End Requirements Management: Lead the comprehensive management of requirements throughout the airport program lifecycle, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational needs.
• Requirements Governance and Standards: Establish and enforce robust requirements processes, standards, and traceability frameworks to maintain consistency and accountability across all project deliverables.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Facilitation: Conduct workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with airport stakeholders, operational teams, and external partners to ensure all voices are heard and integrated into the solution design.
• Domain Expertise: Oversee requirements across critical airport domains, including Passenger Processing, Airport Operations, Baggage Handling, Security, Asset Management, and Enterprise Services, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Alignment with Business and Technology: Ensure that all requirements are in harmony with business priorities, operational necessities, and solution architecture, fostering a cohesive and efficient technology landscape.
• Change Control and Scope Management: Manage change requests, conduct impact assessments, and oversee scope adjustments to mitigate risks and maintain project integrity.
• Executive Reporting: Provide high-level reporting on requirements status, risks, dependencies, and progress to senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making and strategic alignment.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of Business Analysts and Requirements Specialists, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Adoption of Best Practices: Champion the adoption of industry-leading best practices, tools, and governance frameworks to elevate the standards of requirements management within the organization.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, PMP, TOGAF, or Agile are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in Business Analysis and Requirements Management, with at least 5 years leading requirements teams on large-scale transformation programs.
• Industry Expertise: Proven experience in airports, aviation, transportation, or critical infrastructure environments, with a deep understanding of operational and technical challenges.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in requirements governance, traceability, stakeholder management, and change control, with hands-on experience in multi-vendor delivery or Systems Integration environments.
• Tools and Methodologies: Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and other requirements management tools is essential. Familiarity with industry-standard methodologies and frameworks is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, facilitation, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive consensus on complex issues.

While not mandatory, the following experience will enhance your candidacy:

• Airport Technology Familiarity: Hands-on experience with airport technologies such as Airport Operational Database (AODB), Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), Resource Management Systems (RMS), Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), Baggage Reconciliation Systems (BRS), CUPPS/CUSS/CUTEA-CDMS, Passenger Processing & Airport Security Systems, and Airport Systems Integration and ORAT Programs.
