Role Overview

The Signaling Engineer plays a pivotal role in maintaining the reliability, availability, and safety of railway signaling systems. This position requires a proactive approach to system maintenance, fault analysis, and technical leadership to ensure optimal performance in an operational railway environment. The Signaling Engineer will be responsible for implementing effective maintenance strategies, diagnosing and resolving system failures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• System Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor signaling system performance to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues before they escalate.
• Fault Investigation and Analysis: Conduct Level 1 (L1) and Level 2 (L2) investigations into signaling failures, performing detailed root cause analysis to determine underlying issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintenance Strategy Execution: Develop, review, and execute maintenance procedures, checklists, and schedules to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Field Maintenance Supervision: Perform and supervise field maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and upgrades, to maintain system integrity and operational readiness.
• Log Analysis and Fault Identification: Analyze system logs and data to identify faults, predict potential failures, and recommend preventive measures to minimize downtime.
• Incident Coordination: Collaborate with traffic controllers, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders during incidents and service disruptions to ensure swift resolution and minimal impact on operations.
• Emergency Response Support: Participate in emergency response and restoration activities, including on-call and shift duties, to address critical issues and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to safety standards, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a secure and compliant operational environment.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for system enhancements and propose technical solutions, such as modifications or upgrades, to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, failure analysis reports, and performance dashboards to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Railway Engineering (preferred).
• Saudi National (required).
