Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Steward to join our esteemed team at The Ritz-Carlton, An Nu'aylah. In this pivotal role, you will play an essential part in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency within our culinary and food and beverage departments. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, from operating and maintaining cleaning equipment to ensuring the meticulous organization of kitchen and storage areas. Key Responsibilities

As a Steward, your daily duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Equipment and Tool Maintenance: Operate and maintain essential cleaning equipment, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors to ensure optimal performance.
• Cleaning and Sanitization: Wash, disinfect, and sanitize kitchen and storage areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment using approved detergents, rinsing agents, and sanitizing chemicals. Inspect cleaned items for residue or contamination, and re-clean as necessary.
• Inventory Management: Receive and inspect deliveries, store perishable items properly, and rotate stock to maintain freshness and compliance with food safety regulations. Ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas to prevent cross-contamination.
• Dishwashing and Warewashing: Utilize the 3-compartment sink system to wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and glassware. Rack and spray cleaned items with hot water to remove food residue and ensure thorough cleanliness.
• Waste Management: Sort, soak, and wash silverware, break down dirty bus tubs, and empty trash cans and dumpsters. Dispose of glass in designated containers and break down cardboard boxes for recycling. Maintain a clean and organized waste disposal area.
• Facility Maintenance: Clean and mop all assigned areas, including floors, walls, and equipment, to meet the luxury standards of The Ritz-Carlton. Perform routine inspections to identify and report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions to management.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and security procedures. Complete mandatory safety training and certifications, and actively participate in maintaining a secure work environment. Protect company assets and report any incidents or hazards promptly.
• Team Collaboration: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across departments to support team goals and foster a collaborative work environment. Communicate professionally and respectfully with team members and supervisors.
• Physical Demands: Perform job duties that require standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. Engage in repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Reach overhead and below the knees as needed to complete tasks.
• Additional Duties: Fulfill any other reasonable job responsibilities as assigned by supervisors to support the operational needs of the department.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Education: No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Experience: Prior work experience in a similar role is not mandatory, as full training will be provided.
• Supervisory Experience: This is a non-management position; no prior supervisory experience is necessary.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required for this role.
