Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team at Delta Hotels by Marriott in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing a variety of structural and decorative elements within our property. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of our facilities, ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. This position offers a full-time schedule and requires adherence to company policies, safety standards, and professional conduct.

Key Responsibilities

The Carpenter will perform a wide range of duties to support the property’s maintenance and operational needs. These responsibilities include:

• Structural and Finishing Work: Build, install, and repair walls, partitions, drywall, wallpaper, millwork, molding, and faux finishes. Install and repair laminate finishes to maintain high standards of quality and appearance.
• Framing and Installation: Perform rough-in framing for doors, frames, windows, and cabinetry. Construct and repair wood structures, including partitions, doors, furniture, and other woodwork throughout the property.
• General Maintenance: Conduct miscellaneous repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls to ensure a well-maintained environment.
• Material Procurement: Order necessary materials by completing requisitions, obtaining managerial approval, and coordinating with approved vendors to ensure timely delivery of supplies.
• Physical Tasks: Load, transport, and unload freight using hand trucks, elevators, and designated areas. Move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to reach overhead or below the knees.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures. Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly. Complete required safety training and certifications to maintain a secure work environment.
• Guest Service and Professionalism: Maintain a clean and professional appearance, including wearing the company uniform. Uphold confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets. Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests. Develop positive working relationships and provide exceptional service to all guests, including individuals with disabilities. Anticipate and address guests’ needs with genuine appreciation.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and abilities:

• Education: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in carpentry or a similar trade.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, twisting, and climbing ladders. Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills are essential.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required for this position.
