Medical Assistant - SMSC

The Medical Assistant - SMSC is a vital role within our Valor Health Specialty Services Clinic, supporting our providers in delivering exceptional patient care. This position requires a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) certification.

Key responsibilities include:

• Obtaining and recording patient vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history.
• Verifying patient identity and reviewing medical records.
• Assisting providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Preparing and organizing exam rooms, supplies, and equipment.
• Managing patient prescriptions, referrals, and diagnostic results.
• Coordinating with clinic management for supply inventory and DME stock.
• Following universal precautions, wound care, and infection prevention protocols.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus state required medical credentials.
• Preferred: 2 years of clinical experience in a skilled nursing facility, clinic, or hospital setting.
• Required: Current CMA, RMA, or Idaho LPN license.
• Physical requirements: Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, reaching, bending, hand-eye coordination, and good oral communication skills.
