Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team at Delta Hotels by Marriott in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing a variety of woodwork and structural elements to maintain and enhance the aesthetic and functional integrity of our properties. Your expertise will contribute to creating exceptional guest experiences while ensuring compliance with company standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

The Carpenter will perform a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

• Structural and Finishing Work: Build, install, and repair walls, partitions, and drywall; apply wallpaper, millwork, molding, and faux finishes; and install laminates for finishes.
• Framing and Installation: Perform rough-in framing for doors, frames, windows, and cabinetry, ensuring precision and structural integrity.
• Repair and Maintenance: Repair, maintain, and construct wood structures such as partitions, doors, furniture, and similar items throughout the property. Address minor repairs, including tightening loose fixtures, replacing light bulbs, and patching wall holes.
• Procurement and Logistics: Order materials by completing requisitions, obtaining necessary approvals, and coordinating with approved vendors. Load, transport, and unload freight using hand trucks, ensuring efficient and safe handling.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures. Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly. Complete required safety training and certifications to maintain a secure work environment.
• Guest Service and Professionalism: Maintain a clean and professional appearance, uphold confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests. Develop and sustain positive working relationships to foster a collaborative team environment.
• Physical Demands: Perform tasks requiring physical strength and dexterity, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds. Demonstrate fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to reach overhead or below the knees. Safely use ladders and perform bending, twisting, and stooping motions as needed.
• Additional Duties: Fulfill other reasonable job responsibilities as assigned by supervisors to support the operational needs of the property.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in carpentry or a similar trade.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required for this position.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
