Position Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Stock Controller to oversee inventory management across multiple retail locations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the seamless flow of goods from warehouse to sales floor, minimize discrepancies, and support the sales team with accurate stock information. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining operational efficiency, reducing bottlenecks, and optimizing inventory levels to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
The Stock Controller will play a critical role in managing the entire inventory lifecycle, including receipt, storage, transfer, and replenishment. Your responsibilities will encompass the following:
- Inventory Management: Oversee the systematic transfer of stock between warehouse and stores, as well as between retail locations, ensuring all movements are accurately recorded and discrepancies are minimized. Implement robust tracking mechanisms to maintain real-time visibility of stock levels.
- Warehouse Audits and Stock Counts: Lead comprehensive warehouse audits and physical stock counts in alignment with company policies. Coordinate with the Operations Manager and Store Manager to develop an annual stock-take calendar, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and compliant. Mobilize resources effectively to execute stock-take processes while adhering to established procedures.
- Stock Reconciliation and Reporting: Analyze stock-take results in collaboration with the Local Retail & Wholesale Operations Specialist and Finance Manager. Reconcile discrepancies by monitoring stock movements and transfers, and prepare detailed reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and actionable insights. Implement stock loss mitigation strategies and ensure adherence to corrective action plans.
- Shipment Coordination: Facilitate the timely delivery of goods by coordinating with external partners, including EZ in Italy and logistics providers. Ensure shipments are processed efficiently and align with store requirements to support sales operations.
- Team Leadership and Development: Mentor, train, and appraise staff to foster a high-performing team. Empower subordinates to achieve their full potential by providing guidance, setting clear expectations, and recognizing achievements. Cultivate a culture of accountability, initiative, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between warehouse operations, store teams, and external partners. Provide timely updates on deliveries, stock levels, pending orders, and claims related to damaged or short-shipped merchandise. Ensure seamless communication to support replenishment processes and sales initiatives.
Qualifications and Competencies

- Education: A high school qualification or a degree in Commerce, with a strong foundation in retail operations.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in luxury retail, with a proven track record in inventory management and stock control.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory control systems, such as Oracle, and a strong aptitude for data analysis and reporting. Computer literacy is essential for managing stock records and generating insights.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a commercial mindset tailored to retail environments. Strong follow-up skills and the ability to execute instructions with precision are critical.
