Key Responsibilities

The Director of Finance & Accounting will oversee a comprehensive portfolio of financial and accounting functions, including strategic planning, budgeting, financial analysis, and team leadership. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and operational excellence. Below are the core areas of responsibility:

Strategic Financial Leadership & Planning

• Budget Development & Management: Lead the creation and execution of the annual operating budget, ensuring alignment with the property’s and brand’s strategic goals. Analyze financial data to forecast sales, expenses, and profitability, while identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
• Financial Analysis & Forecasting: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to assess market trends, operational performance, and investment opportunities. Provide actionable insights to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.
• Risk Management & Controls: Implement and maintain a robust system of financial controls to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Oversee internal and external audits to validate financial integrity and operational efficiency.
• Business Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with the General Manager and executive team to develop and refine business strategies that drive growth, enhance guest experiences, and optimize financial outcomes.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Team Development & Performance: Lead, mentor, and inspire the finance and accounting team by fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide coaching to align individual goals with organizational objectives.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary financial liaison with property owners, corporate leadership, and key stakeholders. Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights to facilitate strategic discussions and decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with department heads to align financial strategies with operational priorities, ensuring that all business units operate within budgetary constraints while delivering exceptional results.

Operational Excellence & Innovation

• Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and implement innovative solutions to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a blend of financial expertise, leadership acumen, and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will have:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required). A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a proven track record in financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning. Experience in the hospitality, real estate, or service industry is a strong asset.
