Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Director of Finance & Accounting to lead the financial operations of our property in the Central Area District of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role will serve as the primary financial steward, driving the development and execution of property-wide strategies that align with the brand’s mission, customer expectations, and organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will combine deep financial expertise with leadership acumen to optimize profitability, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure robust financial governance. This position reports directly to the General Manager and collaborates closely with the executive leadership team to deliver sustainable financial performance and long-term value for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Finance & Accounting will be responsible for a comprehensive range of strategic and operational duties, including:

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Champion the development and implementation of property-wide financial strategies that align with the brand’s service objectives and maximize return on investment. Lead the creation of annual operating budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term business plans that support sustainable growth.
• Budgeting and Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, market trends, and operational performance to identify cost-saving opportunities, productivity enhancements, and revenue-generating initiatives. Monitor actual performance against projections, providing actionable insights to department heads and the executive team to drive informed decision-making.
• Risk Management and Controls: Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Oversee audit processes—both internal and external—to uphold transparency, accuracy, and accountability in financial reporting.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team by fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Assign clear accountability and authority to team members, conduct regular performance evaluations, and align individual goals with organizational objectives.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Serve as the primary financial advisor to the General Manager and executive committee, presenting complex financial concepts in a clear, persuasive, and actionable manner. Engage with property owners, corporate leadership, and key stakeholders to understand priorities, communicate financial insights, and drive alignment on strategic initiatives.
• Operational Excellence: Collaborate with department heads to optimize financial performance, ensuring that operational decisions are data-driven and aligned with the property’s financial goals. Provide ongoing analytical support to monitor sales trends, expense variances, and profitability metrics, enabling proactive adjustments to business strategies.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a blend of educational achievement, professional experience, and leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Education: A 4-year bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a master’s degree in Finance or Accounting may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or a related professional domain is preferred. Candidates with prior leadership experience in a hospitality, real estate, or corporate finance environment are highly desirable.
• Technical and Analytical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis is essential. Familiarity with accounting software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools is required to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
• Leadership and Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence executive stakeholders, and communicate financial insights to non-financial audiences. Strong interpersonal skills, integrity, and a commitment to ethical business practices are critical.
