Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiotherapy Technician - Technologist - Senior to join our esteemed healthcare team. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Radiotherapy Technician - Technologist will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:

• Radiotherapy Simulation and Planning: Conduct simulation procedures on the CT simulator to establish the foundation for effective treatment plans. Position patients accurately on imaging machines and perform necessary markings to ensure precision in treatment delivery.
• Customized Patient Support: Fabricate and maintain immobilization devices such as molds and masks to ensure patient stability and comfort during treatment sessions. Monitor and manage the inventory of molding materials and masks, ensuring timely procurement and availability.
• Treatment Administration: Assist in the administration of radiotherapy sessions by ensuring proper patient positioning on radiotherapy machines. Collaborate closely with the medical team to deliver treatments as prescribed by physicians, while maintaining meticulous documentation of treatment charts.
• Equipment Maintenance and Coordination: Serve as a liaison with biomedical engineers to address machine malfunctions, monitor repair progress, and facilitate replacement part requests. Oversee maintenance activities for radiotherapy equipment, including coordination with both biomedical engineering teams and external manufacturing companies to ensure optimal functionality.
• Emergency Response and Urgent Care: Provide on-call availability outside regular duty hours to irradiate urgent oncologic cases and blood products as required. Demonstrate responsiveness and adaptability to meet critical patient needs promptly.
• Patient Education and Support: Educate patients and their families about their health conditions, treatment processes, and preventive measures to empower them with knowledge and foster a supportive care environment.
• Continuous Improvement and Compliance: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by adhering to best practices, safety protocols, and ethical standards. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive patient and organizational information, and comply with cybersecurity policies to safeguard systems and data.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and requirements:

• Education: Hold a Diploma from a Technical Institute of Health in Technical Radiation Therapy or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in the field of radiotherapy technology or a closely related discipline.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate strong computer literacy and the ability to effectively communicate in written English. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
• Certification and Licensure: Possess a valid license to practice as a Radiotherapy Technician - Technologist, issued by the relevant regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS, DHA, or equivalent).
• Professional Attributes: Exhibit a commitment to patient-centered care, adherence to safety protocols, and a proactive approach to addressing job-related safety concerns.
