This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the security and operational excellence of the 9th Air Force, a pivotal component of AFCENT overseeing operations across the Middle East. You will serve alongside our customers in one of the most strategically significant regions in the world, ensuring the integrity of base security and critical support services. The 9th Air Force operates from key locations including Al Dhafra AB (UAE), Ali Al Salem AB (Kuwait), Prince Sultan AB (KSA), and other strategic sites, making this a dynamic and impactful position for a professional seeking to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the 9th Air Force Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron by providing expert guidance in pass and identification management. Your responsibilities will include:
- Form Management: Issue, control, and account for Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force accountable forms, including AF Form 1199, Restricted Area Badges, and Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Cards, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory protocols.
- Badge and Pass Tracking: Maintain meticulous records of all restricted area badges issued, lost, or destroyed, as well as the secure-to-secure travel pass program. This includes monitoring the status of Third Country National exchange badge credentials to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Visitor Control Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the Installation Visitor Control Center and DBIDS processes, ensuring seamless and secure access for visitors, contractors, and personnel. This includes validating credentials, managing visitor logs, and coordinating with security forces to mitigate risks.
- Security Compliance: Ensure all identification and pass issuance processes align with DoD, Air Force, and AFCENT security policies. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance and address any discrepancies promptly.
- Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with security forces, base personnel, and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations. Prepare and submit reports on badge issuance, visitor access, and security incidents as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of hands-on experience working in a DoD Visitor Control Center or a related security environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to support administrative and reporting tasks.
- Security Clearance: Must possess an active DoD-approved SECRET security clearance. Candidates must be able to maintain this clearance throughout their tenure.
- Driver’s License: Must hold a current state-issued driver’s license and be capable of obtaining a Government Driver’s License as required by the position.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Arabic (speaking, writing, and reading) is highly desirable and will be considered a significant asset in this role.
- Medical and Background Screening: All candidates must successfully pass medical screenings in accordance with CENTCOM deployment standards. Additionally, a comprehensive background check will be conducted to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Exclusion Criteria: Candidates will be disqualified from consideration if they have any of the following:
- Pending criminal or civil charges, including divorce or child custody proceedings.
- A felony arrest record.
- An alcohol-related arrest within the last five years.
- A history of moral turpitude arrests, including but not limited to prostitution, pandering, voyeurism, or public indecency.
- Involvement in hate crimes or groups that espouse extralegal violence.
- A history of violence or criminal behavior.
