Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Accounting Officer at Almarai, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial records while providing strategic insights to support business decisions. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Financial Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals to deliver high-quality financial reporting and analysis, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory standards.
• Strategic Accounting Oversight: Develop and implement robust accounting policies and procedures across all business units to enhance efficiency, transparency, and compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, to provide actionable insights for senior management and stakeholders.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Identify financial risks, implement internal controls, and ensure adherence to local and international accounting regulations, including tax compliance and audit requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, operations, and executive teams to align accounting practices with business strategies, drive cost optimization, and support mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures as needed.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a key liaison between the accounting department and external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth audits and inspections.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes, systems, and technologies to improve accuracy, reduce cycle times, and support scalability across all business units.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a passion for financial excellence. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CMA) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role within a multinational or large-scale organization.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and a deep understanding of IFRS and local accounting standards. Experience with financial consolidation and multi-entity accounting is a plus.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the food and beverage industry or FMCG sector is beneficial but not mandatory. A keen understanding of supply chain finance and operational accounting is advantageous.
