Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Elevator Product Costing and Pricing Controller to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the development of total product cost, ensuring accurate pricing strategies, and conducting comprehensive variance analysis to drive financial performance and operational efficiency. Your expertise will be critical in supporting both standard and non-standard product configurations while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to align costing and pricing with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
As the Elevator Product Costing and Pricing Controller, your core responsibilities will include:
- Total Product Cost Development:
- Collaborate with the legacy factory finance team to comprehensively understand the scope of all standard product models, configurations, specifications, and options, as well as their corresponding component structures (sub-system level for CSC operations and material level for future manufacturing operations).
- Lead the development of total product cost by collecting and reviewing end-to-end (E2E) total landed product cost data in partnership with JV functional teams.
- Verify and update product cost information in SAP as part of master data management, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
- Execute these tasks within the annual budgeting cycle or in response to specific business needs, such as new product introductions or product changes.
- Product Pricing Development:
- On the foundation of total product cost, allocate and incorporate additional PCC (Product Costing and Pricing) cost elements, including overhead, SG&A (Selling, General & Administrative expenses), depreciations, warranty costs, and more, to develop the PCC Entity Full Manufacturing Cost.
- Follow up on the margin strategy for the PCC Entity to ensure that TP2 pricing logic is properly maintained within the Sales Configurator.
- Variance Analysis for Product Costing and Pricing:
- Lead variance analysis between standard product costing and actual product costing, as well as between standard price lists and actual prices.
- Drive cause analysis and develop action plans to mitigate variances, collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization.
- Focus these analyses on standard product models, configurations, specifications, and options that have been scoped by automatic pricing and OBOM (Order Bill of Materials) configurations.
- Non-Standard Product Costing and Pricing Control:
- Lead and establish the logic for non-standard specifications required by sales projects during the offer-to-order and order-to-delivery processes.
- Ensure that this logic is properly implemented by cross-functional teams, maintaining consistency and accuracy in costing and pricing.
- Reporting:
- Develop and execute relevant financial reports throughout the annual budgeting cycle, including month-over-month (MoM) reporting for product cost movements, pricing status, and margin performance on turned-over projects.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with a strong background in product costing and operational finance within the machinery industry.
- Prior experience in the elevator industry is highly preferred, providing you with specialized knowledge of the sector’s unique challenges and requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems for master data management and cost tracking.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and drive actionable insights.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership in developing and implementing costing and pricing strategies that align with business goals.
