Key Responsibilities
As an Oncology Registrar or Senior Registrar, you will play a pivotal role in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of oncology patients across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Patient Assessment and Management: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of oncology patients, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing to formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Evidence-Based Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment strategies in alignment with the latest clinical guidelines, under the supervision and guidance of senior consultants. Ensure that all interventions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Actively participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings, fostering collaboration with radiologists, pathologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated patient care.
- Treatment Monitoring and Complication Management: Regularly assess patient responses to treatment, proactively manage oncology-related complications, and adjust care plans as necessary to optimize outcomes and patient well-being.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain meticulous and up-to-date medical records in accordance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and quality assurance requirements. Ensure adherence to patient safety protocols and ethical guidelines at all times.
- On-Call Responsibilities: Provide timely and effective on-call coverage as required, demonstrating a high level of clinical competence and responsiveness in emergency and urgent care situations.
- Education and Professional Development: Contribute to the training and mentorship of junior medical staff, residents, and fellows. Engage in continuous medical education (CME) activities to stay abreast of advancements in oncology and enhance your clinical expertise.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualifications: A recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Professional Registration: Valid classification and registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) as a Registrar or Senior Registrar in Oncology.
- Clinical Experience: Prior experience in Medical Oncology is highly desirable. Candidates with a strong background in oncology patient care, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration will be given preference.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional clinical decision-making abilities, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively within a diverse healthcare team.
- Availability: Immediate availability or a short notice period is advantageous, enabling a smooth transition into this critical role.
