Public Affairs Lead - Vaccine Regional

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Public Affairs Lead – Vaccines to join our esteemed team based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to drive meaningful engagement with patients, communities, and stakeholders to enhance vaccine confidence, promote disease prevention awareness, and ensure equitable access to immunization across the region. As a key member of our Vaccines team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Sanofi’s mission as a trusted public-health partner by fostering impactful collaborations with immunization stakeholders, patient groups, and healthcare authorities.

Key Responsibilities

In this critical position, you will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Patient and Community Engagement: Lead disease-awareness campaigns focused on vaccine-preventable diseases such as HPV, influenza, and RSV, leveraging patient and caregiver insights to drive impactful messaging and advocacy.
• Policy Advocacy and Stakeholder Dialogue: Support national immunization strategies by engaging in evidence-based advocacy, monitoring policy trends, and addressing barriers to access, including NITAG recommendations and immunization budgets.
• Community Insights and Brand Strategy: Develop frameworks for gathering community-level insights to ensure patient perspectives inform Vaccines brand planning and reputation strategy, fostering alignment with public health goals.
• Multistakeholder Partnerships: Co-create initiatives with health authorities, NGOs, vaccine alliances, and public-health organizations to address vaccine confidence, health literacy, and digital immunization engagement.
• Scientific Society Collaborations: Partner with scientific societies in pediatrics, infectious disease, and public health to advance vaccination agendas and raise awareness of disease prevention.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Medical, External Affairs, Market Access, and Communications teams to ensure cohesive messaging and risk-managed activities across all vaccine-related initiatives.
• Environment-Shaping Actions: Provide strategic advice based on policy trend analysis and stakeholder feedback to reinforce Sanofi’s position as a trusted leader in public health.
• Public Awareness Campaigns: Design and execute campaigns that enhance vaccine confidence and promote equitable access to immunization across diverse communities in Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Professional Background: Minimum of five years of experience in vaccines, public health, Public Affairs, or community-health organizations, with a proven track record in patient advocacy and community engagement.
• Regional Expertise: Demonstrated experience with immunization programs, public-health partnerships, or disease-prevention campaigns, preferably within the Saudi Arabian or broader Middle East context.
• Policy and Stakeholder Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the local vaccination ecosystem, including national immunization strategies, policy landscapes, and key stakeholder networks.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Arabic to effectively engage with diverse communities and stakeholders.
• Core Competencies: Proven expertise in Healthcare Policies, Patient Advocacy, Launch Strategy, Strategic Insights, and Innovation. Strong capabilities in Partnership Development, Crisis Management, and Public Awareness Campaigns.
• Business Acumen: Exceptional communication skills, stakeholder relationship management abilities, and a keen business mindset.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Communications, Public Policy, Life Sciences, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
• Passion for Public Health: A genuine commitment to improving patient outcomes through community engagement, advocacy, and strategic initiatives.
