As a BIM Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, maintaining, and coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) disciplines. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and alignment of digital models with project specifications, engineering calculations, and construction requirements. This role demands precision, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality BIM deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• BIM Modeling and Development: Create, update, and maintain detailed BIM models for MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, electrical power, lighting, and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems. Ensure models accurately reflect design intent, engineering calculations, and project specifications.
• Documentation and Deliverables: Generate precise plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and installation details from BIM models. Produce model-based drawings, markups, and redline updates to support design coordination, construction, and site requirements.
• Model Coordination and Clash Detection: Integrate MEP models with architectural, structural, and other disciplines to identify spatial conflicts and constructability issues. Conduct clash detection using Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), or similar platforms, and produce actionable clash reports for resolution.
• Parametric Modeling and Integration: Develop parametric Revit models that ensure accurate routing, clearances, and system connectivity. Support the preparation of MEP shop drawings, fabrication drawings, builder’s work drawings, and detailed construction documentation derived from BIM models.
• Project Lifecycle Support: Assist in all project stages, from Schematic Design (SD) through Design Development (DD) to Construction Documentation (CD). Ensure timely model updates, drawing production, and alignment with issued engineering drawings. Support the development of as-built MEP models and closeout documentation.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Validate model quality, integrity, and data accuracy. Extract schedules, quantities, equipment data, and support specification coordination in accordance with project and AEC standards. Adhere to BIM Execution Plan (BEP) requirements and ISO 19650 standards.
• Collaboration and Communication: Participate in BIM coordination meetings, model review workshops, and technical discussions with multidisciplinary teams. Track coordination issues, support timely resolution, and maintain BIM coordination logs, clash registers, and issue tracking documentation.
• Technical Proficiency and Tools: Utilize Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM Collaborate Pro, or similar BIM authoring and coordination tools. Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging BIM technologies to enhance project delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field. Additional certification in BIM or Revit is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in MEP BIM modeling, coordination, and documentation within the AEC industry. Experience with large-scale infrastructure, commercial, or industrial projects is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks, and familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or BIM Collaborate Pro. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Dynamo, and other BIM-related software is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Certifications: Certification in BIM methodologies (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit) or ISO 19650 standards is advantageous.
