Process Engineer
الوصف الوظيفي
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing monitoring systems tailored to client requirements and asset categories. Your expertise will be instrumental in evaluating and diagnosing electrical systems and equipment to ensure peak performance, predict maintenance needs, and mitigate the risk of unplanned outages. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical projects while developing your technical and professional capabilities in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Process Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:
- Site Engineering & Data Collection: Conduct comprehensive plant and site visits to gather essential technical data, including performance curves, heat and mass balance diagrams, P&IDs, and other critical inputs required for process and performance modeling. Facilitate remote data collection by accessing process historians, tag databases, and DCS/instrumentation data to ensure thorough preparation for on-site assessments.
- Process & Performance Modeling Support: Collaborate with senior process engineers and technology-partner specialists to develop and configure first-principles and thermodynamic performance models. Assist in calculating key performance indicators, efficiency metrics, and heat-rate benchmarks to evaluate facility performance. Support the installation, configuration, and integration of these models with client data and reporting systems to enhance operational insights.
- Testing, Commissioning & Documentation: Participate in Factory/Site Acceptance Testing, integrated performance testing, and model/system acceptance testing. Maintain detailed technical issue logs and contribute to regular project status reporting for Project Managers and Technical Leads to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Knowledge Transfer & Client Interface: Engage in knowledge transfer sessions to empower client personnel with the skills and understanding necessary to operate and maintain new systems. Build and sustain strong working relationships with client site teams, serving as the primary on-site technical liaison to facilitate seamless coordination and address day-to-day operational challenges.
- Resident Engineering & Development Track: Act as the on-site representative for assigned client facilities, providing hands-on engineering support under the supervision of the AIGC Technical Lead and Project Manager. Develop expertise to independently manage site-level engineering tasks and gradually assume greater responsibility as your competencies grow. This role is designed to evolve into a broader resident-engineering capability, offering opportunities to rotate across diverse client engagements in power generation, oil & gas, and other process industries over time.
Qualifications & Requirements
To excel in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, or Mechanical/Power & Energy Engineering with a strong foundation in thermodynamics.
- Experience: Possess 0–5 years of relevant experience, with fresh graduates encouraged to apply. Prior internships or exposure to process engineering principles are advantageous.
- Location & Travel: Be a Saudi national based in or willing to relocate to Riyadh. Willingness to travel and reside at client facility sites across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for extended assignments is essential.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrate a solid academic grounding in thermodynamics, heat and mass balance, and process engineering fundamentals. Familiarity with major process/power-plant equipment, such as rotating equipment and heat exchangers, is preferred. Exposure to process/first-principles simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Petro-SIM) is a plus, though full training will be provided for project-specific software platforms.
- Additional Competencies: A basic understanding of plant instrumentation, P&IDs, DCS systems, process historians, and fuel demand modules (FDM) is beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are highly valued.
