Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer- Field Services to oversee and execute critical maintenance, repair, and refurbishment activities for our clients' sites and properties. This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational reliability, performance, and longevity of our products through comprehensive field services, including preventive and corrective maintenance, technical installations, and system diagnostics. The Lead Engineer will operate within a structured operational framework, adhering to prescribed work instructions and system verifications to deliver high-quality results. This position demands a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and exceptional problem-solving abilities to support both existing and new equipment installations.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Engineer- Field Services will be responsible for the following core duties and responsibilities:

• Technical Execution and Supervision: Conduct all on-site life extension activities, repairs, and service-related inspections for installed fleets. Oversee the construction, commissioning, and maintenance of both new and existing equipment, including critical operations such as on-site machining, non-destructive testing, blade repairs, winding, welding, and generator diagnostics. Demonstrate the ability to make informed engineering decisions independently.
• Engineering and Conceptual Knowledge: Develop a deep conceptual understanding of professional engineering disciplines. Provide specialized technical expertise or support within a broader domain, contributing to the enhancement of team capabilities and operational efficiency.
• Business Acumen and Collaboration: Apply business management principles derived from academic training or prior experience to understand the broader impact of field operations. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges and ensure seamless project execution.
• Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Address technical issues using established procedures and protocols. For challenges beyond predefined parameters, consult with supervisors or senior team members to derive optimal solutions. Engage proactively in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
• Client Relations and Communication: Serve as the primary technical liaison between clients and GE Vernova, fostering strong professional relationships. Communicate technical information clearly, pose relevant questions, and verify client understanding to ensure alignment with project objectives and expectations.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following educational and experiential criteria:

• For Roles Outside the United States:
  • Basic experience with digital audio workstation functions and station operations.
  • Equivalent knowledge to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (or a high school diploma/GED with relevant experience).
• For Roles in the United States:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (or a high school diploma/GED with at least two years of relevant experience).
• Desired Competencies:
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.

This position is subject to direct supervision by operational leadership and must adhere to prescribed work instructions and system verifications. The Lead Engineer- Field Services will follow detailed operational task sequences to achieve desired outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
