Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. This critical role is designed for Saudi nationals and will be based at our state-of-the-art fulfillment center, where you will play a pivotal part in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure to support seamless operations. Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, remote support teams, and IT Support Technicians to deliver exceptional technical services, drive operational excellence, and ensure the highest levels of system availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, your core responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of technical and operational duties, including:
- Infrastructure Implementation & Maintenance: Design, deploy, and maintain robust IT infrastructure across both software and hardware environments, ensuring uninterrupted operations during critical production hours. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining all IT equipment at peak performance while consistently meeting departmental KPIs and SLAs.
- Networking & Systems Administration: Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize networking fundamentals, including routers, switches, wireless access points, and structured cabling. Your responsibilities will extend to managing DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and TCP/IP protocols, ensuring a secure and high-performance network infrastructure. You will also liaise with global subject matter experts to align with Amazon’s stringent IT and Health & Safety standards.
- Project Execution & Change Management: Lead and execute site-level IT projects in collaboration with business teams, fellow engineers, and remote support personnel. As the single point of contact for assigned projects, you will create, review, and execute comprehensive change management requests and project plans, validating technical execution to ensure seamless delivery.
- Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and resolve operational issues while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and reduce costs. Your role will involve maintaining and developing policies, procedures, and documentation to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- People Development & Mentorship: Provide expert guidance and support to IT Support Technicians, acting as a technical escalation point for remote support teams. You will mentor and train team members, contribute to recruitment efforts, and foster a culture of technical excellence within the organization.
- Customer Support & Collaboration: Deliver exceptional IT support to customers across multiple buildings and remote sites, representing IT in cross-functional meetings. You will manage contractor and supplier relationships, communicate technical requirements in alignment with Amazon standards, and ensure adherence to procurement policies and budgets.
- On-Call & Reporting: Participate in the paid on-call schedule to address high-severity incidents promptly. Additionally, you will produce weekly reports detailing metrics, work performed, and key operational insights to support data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Technical Proficiency: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with Windows Server technologies, including Active Directory (AD), Distributed File System (DFS), Print Services, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
- Troubleshooting Expertise: At least 2 years of experience in troubleshooting technical issues within a multi-user, high-availability environment.
- Hardware & Deployment Skills: Proven track record with 2 years of experience in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation processes.
- Networking Knowledge: Strong foundation in networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Operating Systems Support: Demonstrated ability to support corporate environments across Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, with at least 2 years of experience.
- Corporate IT Support: Experience in supporting a corporate network environment, ensuring seamless service delivery to end-users.
