As a global leader in medical technology, we empower 95,000 employees across more than 150 countries to deliver life-changing solutions to over 72 million patients annually. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a purpose-driven career while shaping the future of healthcare through groundbreaking technologies and patient-centered solutions.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Consultant – Structural Heart to join our dynamic team based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in the medical device industry, particularly in structural heart therapies such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Implantation (TPVI). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting Medtronic’s innovative products, fostering long-term relationships with healthcare stakeholders, and providing expert technical and clinical support to hospitals and physicians.

This position requires a high degree of independence, as you will be expected to travel extensively—covering 60-70% of the time—to engage with customers, support procedures, and deliver on-site education. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes while contributing to the growth and success of Medtronic’s structural heart portfolio in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Promotion and Relationship Building: Actively promote Medtronic’s structural heart products and services within your assigned geographic area and specific customer accounts. Develop and nurture long-term relationships with physicians, hospital personnel, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and trust.
  • Technical and Clinical Support: Provide comprehensive technical and clinical expertise to support hospital teams, including therapy indications, pre-procedure planning, intra-operative guidance, and post-implant patient management. Ensure healthcare professionals are fully equipped to deliver optimal patient care with Medtronic’s solutions.
  • Education and Consultation: Conduct on-site education sessions, product demonstrations, and consulting to enhance the understanding and adoption of Medtronic’s structural heart technologies. Serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare teams, addressing their technical queries and challenges.
  • Customer Feedback and Collaboration: Gather and communicate customer feedback on product performance, potential enhancements, or modifications to internal stakeholders. Collaborate closely with the commercial organization to refine sales processes, support product launches, and optimize clinical support pathways.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive innovation, improve operational efficiencies, and align technical support with business objectives. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • On-Call Support: Provide on-call support as needed to address urgent technical or clinical queries, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing disruptions to patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the medical device industry, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience in structural heart therapies (TAVI/TPVI) or related fields.
  • Deep understanding of pain management, neuromodulation therapies, and structural heart procedures, including familiarity with operating room (OR) environments, sterilization protocols, and radiation safety.
  • Proven ability to educate and train medical personnel, peers, and technical support teams on complex medical technologies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including physicians, hospital administrators, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with radiology protocols, imaging technology, and medical terminology.
  • Prior experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, providing hands-on support during procedures.
  • Knowledge of the medical device industry, including regulatory requirements, market trends, and competitive landscape.

Physical Requirements

The role of Technical Consultant – Structural Heart involves regular travel to customer sites, hospitals, and offsite meetings. The position requires the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain mobility to fulfill job duties. The employee is expected to be adaptable, resilient, and capable of handling the physical demands associated with frequent travel and on-site support.
