About the Role
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Control Specialist to uphold and enhance our product and process quality standards. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that all materials, in-process products, and finished goods adhere to stringent quality benchmarks. Your responsibilities will encompass conducting thorough inspections, documenting findings with precision, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to elevate operational excellence. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with industry regulations and internal protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection and Testing: Perform comprehensive inspections and tests on incoming raw materials, in-process products, and final deliverables to verify compliance with established quality standards. Utilize both manual and automated testing methods as required.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately record and maintain detailed documentation of all inspection results, including deviations, defects, and corrective actions. Ensure that records are organized, accessible, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Defect Identification and Resolution: Proactively identify defects, discrepancies, or non-conformances in products or processes. Report findings to the Senior Quality Control Specialist and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks and prevent recurrence.
- Quality Enforcement: Exercise authority to reject materials or products that fail to meet quality specifications, ensuring that only compliant items proceed through the production pipeline.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to address quality concerns, provide actionable feedback, and foster a culture of quality awareness across departments.
- Audit Execution and Compliance: Conduct regular quality audits to assess adherence to standards, identify gaps, and implement corrective measures. Ensure that all processes align with industry best practices and regulatory mandates.
- Team Development and Leadership: Mentor and train Quality Control inspectors to enhance their technical competencies and ensure consistent performance across the team. Support the delegation of duties to qualified team members in the absence of colleagues, under the guidance of management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications in quality management or auditing are advantageous.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a Quality Control role, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment. Experience in the food industry is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with quality control tools, methodologies, and software. Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and regulatory standards.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement solutions to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate findings, recommendations, and training effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous and systematic approach to work, ensuring accuracy in inspections, documentation, and reporting.
