Position Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and proactive QA/QC Architecture Engineer to oversee the architectural integrity and quality standards of our construction projects. In this critical role, you will ensure that all architectural works are executed in strict adherence to project specifications, approved drawings, industry standards, and regulatory codes. Your expertise will be pivotal in maintaining exceptional quality throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design review to final execution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in architectural engineering, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Compliance and Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of architectural works to verify compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and established quality standards. Ensure that all construction activities align with the highest benchmarks of quality and precision.
- Documentation and Review: Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements. Prepare and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists, and quality procedures to maintain consistency and accountability.
- Site Coordination and Quality Assurance: Perform on-site inspections and coordinate with consultants, clients, and project stakeholders to validate construction activities. Raise, monitor, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) while ensuring that corrective and preventive actions are promptly implemented to mitigate risks.
- Material and Finishing Verification: Verify that all construction materials and architectural finishing works—including blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, ceilings, painting, doors, windows, and flooring—comply with approved submittals and project specifications. Maintain rigorous oversight to uphold quality standards at every stage.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive QA/QC documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and quality logs. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports as required, ensuring transparency and accountability in all quality-related processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to address and resolve quality-related issues. Facilitate seamless communication and coordination to ensure that all parties are aligned with quality objectives and project requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to company QA/QC procedures, contract requirements, and applicable building codes. Participate in internal and external quality audits to validate compliance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as an Architectural Engineer or QA/QC Architecture Engineer, with a proven track record in building construction and architectural finishing works.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspection processes, and quality documentation. Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings with precision. Familiarity with Inspection Requests (IRs), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) is essential.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of applicable building codes and quality management systems to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and PDF/document management software to streamline documentation and reporting processes.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities. Capable of working independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve project objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications will enhance your candidacy:
- Prior experience collaborating with contractors or consultants on construction projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in quality assurance and quality control processes, site inspection methodologies, and architectural finishing works.
- Strong technical reporting skills and a meticulous approach to document control, time management, and teamwork.
