Your Role as Credit Lead

As Credit Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving credit assessments for B2B clients, making pivotal financing decisions, and serving as the trusted authority on risk judgment for the organization. This is not a back-office support role; it is a frontline position where your expertise directly influences real businesses, capital allocation, and risk management. You will leverage your extensive experience in credit analysis to evaluate SME financials, identify potential red flags, and transform complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations.

This role demands a high level of ownership and autonomy. You will oversee credit cases from inception to resolution, conducting thorough financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, and comprehensive risk evaluations. Your responsibilities will include preparing structured credit memos that present well-reasoned financing recommendations, identifying early risk signals in financial data, client behavior, or sector trends, and collaborating closely with commercial and operations teams to streamline the credit lifecycle. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of credit processes, scoring models, and internal policies as Aajil scales its operations. Ensuring portfolio quality remains a top priority, you will monitor active financing cases and proactively flag any signs of deterioration.

What You’ll Bring to Aajil

• Proven Expertise: A minimum of four years of hands-on experience in credit analysis, with a preference for roles in fintech, lending, or financial services.
• SME and Corporate Assessment: Demonstrated experience in evaluating SME or corporate clients, including the preparation of credit memos, making financing recommendations, and owning the outcomes of your decisions.
• Financial Acumen: A strong command of financial statements and the ability to interpret financial data with precision, identifying key insights and potential risks.
• Risk Management Skills: Familiarity with essential credit risk metrics such as liquidity ratios, leverage, coverage ratios, and Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR).
• Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where processes are still being developed and refined.
• Communication Proficiency: Fluency in both Arabic and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively.
• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
