Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Manager to oversee the comprehensive technology infrastructure at Crowne Plaza Madinah. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary technical resource for all computer hardware and systems, ensuring seamless operation, security, and efficiency across the hotel’s digital ecosystem. Your responsibilities will encompass the management of hardware, software, networking, and security systems, while aligning technology solutions with the hotel’s strategic objectives. This position demands a detail-oriented professional with a strong technical background and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Manager will be responsible for the following core functions:

  • Hardware and Systems Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for servicing computer hardware, ensuring all systems are installed, configured, and operating at peak efficiency. This includes managing PC LAN technology, front office and back office systems, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Software and Technology Oversight: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all approved systems and technologies, including operating systems, utility software, property management systems (PMS), accounting systems, and office automation tools. Ensure compatibility and seamless integration across all platforms.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce robust IT security measures, including virus protection, firewall management, and data security protocols. Conduct regular PCI and credit card/data security training for hotel staff to ensure compliance with industry standards. Maintain physical and digital security for the computer room, including temperature control, power requirements, and fire protection systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and secure documentation of all computer hardware and software, system performance logs, and technical reports. Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to the General Manager, Director of Finance and Business Support, and Area IT Leader, detailing system performance, issues, and recommendations.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison with external vendors for hardware and software procurement, maintenance contracts, and system upgrades. Coordinate with department heads to address IT-related issues, provide training, and ensure alignment with audit requirements.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop, document, and communicate disaster recovery procedures to ensure minimal disruption in the event of system failures. Evaluate and assess the lifecycle of technology assets, providing recommendations for hardware and software refreshes to maintain optimal performance.
  • Training and Support: Train employees to handle basic IT tasks independently, reducing dependency on external support. Identify and coordinate training sessions for users on new systems and updates, fostering a culture of self-sufficiency and efficiency.
  • Policy and Standard Adherence: Ensure all IT policies and procedures comply with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. Investigate and report software issues to vendors or support centers, and implement approved program changes to enhance system functionality.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, with a focus on hotel or hospitality IT systems, or a similar environment.
  • Proven expertise in managing hardware, software, networking, and security systems, including PMS, POS, and LAN technologies.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train and mentor staff on IT best practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Familiarity with PCI compliance, data security standards, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The IT Manager will operate in a dynamic and collaborative environment, working closely with the hotel’s leadership team, department heads, and external vendors. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills to ensure the hotel’s technology infrastructure supports its business objectives while maintaining the highest standards of security and efficiency.
