About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Technical Office Engineer – Engineering Studies & Tendering (Water Infrastructure Projects) to join our dynamic team at Abdullah Ibrahim Al Sayegh and Sons Company. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where you will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of projects that align with our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and excellence in the water sector.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Technical Office Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of technical and engineering tasks that contribute to the planning, design, and execution of water infrastructure projects. Your core duties will include:

  • Engineering Design and Studies: Prepare and review mechanical engineering designs, calculations, and technical studies for water, stormwater, and wastewater networks, treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, dams, and related infrastructure. Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, client requirements, and relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with project managers, site teams, and multidisciplinary engineering disciplines to facilitate seamless project execution. Provide technical guidance and support to ensure alignment between design, construction, and operation & maintenance phases.
  • Documentation and Submittals: Analyze technical documentation, including tender documents, technical specifications, and engineering drawings. Prepare and review material submittals, shop drawings, and technical proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Tendering and Bidding Support: Assist in the preparation of tenders and bids by performing quantity take-offs, mechanical Bill of Quantities (BOQ) analysis, and cost evaluations. Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for suppliers and subcontractors, and review technical proposals to develop accurate and competitive bids.
  • Technical Analysis and Reporting: Conduct comparative analyses of technical proposals and prepare detailed comparison sheets to support decision-making processes. Provide technical support during the construction and operation & maintenance phases to address any challenges that may arise.
  • Risk Assessment and Quality Assurance: Contribute to risk assessments and quality assurance processes to identify potential issues and implement corrective measures. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency, sustainability, and overall performance.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and possess relevant experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 to 8 years of progressive experience in technical office roles, estimation, tendering, or mechanical project execution, with a focus on water, wastewater, irrigation, pumping stations, treatment plants, or MEP projects.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and interpret engineering drawings and perform detailed data analysis.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to read, analyze, and interpret tender documents, technical specifications, and engineering drawings in English. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
