As an ARFF/FF EMT-B, you will play a vital role in executing emergency response operations, ensuring the safety and operational continuity of our aviation and heliport facilities.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic and high-stakes role, you will be responsible for executing comprehensive emergency response duties, including aircraft rescue, fire suppression, hazardous materials management, and Basic Life Support (EMT-B) medical care. Your responsibilities will encompass the following core functions:

• Emergency Response Leadership: Lead crash, fire, rescue, and medical emergency operations at the MNG AVN OSEG Site, ensuring rapid and effective intervention to minimize risks and protect personnel and assets.
• Equipment and Vehicle Readiness: Supervise the daily operational maintenance of fire suppression, rescue, and medical equipment, as well as specialized firefighting vehicles, to guarantee immediate deployment during emergencies. This includes ensuring all apparatus are fully operational, fueled, and equipped for mission-critical scenarios.
• Hazardous Materials Management: Conduct hazardous materials responses at the operational level, applying established protocols to mitigate risks and protect personnel, equipment, and the environment.
• Medical Emergency Support: Provide Basic Life Support (EMT-B) medical care during emergencies, including patient assessment, stabilization, and transport, adhering to established medical protocols and emergency procedures.
• Operational Coordination: Prioritize and manage concurrent medical and fire emergencies, ensuring optimal resource allocation and response efficiency. Collaborate with the fire department leadership to maintain high standards of operational readiness.
• Training and Proficiency: Participate in weekly all-hands fire department meetings and complete all required proficiency training to uphold and enhance your technical and operational skills. Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in aircraft rescue, firefighting, and emergency medical services.
• Communication and Professionalism: Maintain clear and effective communication with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, and responsiveness in all interactions. Prepare and deliver concise oral and written reports as required.
• Additional Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief, Assistant Chief, or Lieutenant of the fire department to support the overall mission and operational objectives of the team.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this critical role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Education: An Associate’s degree is required; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
• Certifications:
  • International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) certification, or DoD and/or ProBoard equivalent.
  • Firefighter Level II certification.
  • Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) certification.
  • Hazardous Materials Operations certification.
  • ARFF Driver Operator certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B) certification issued by a State Agency or the National Registry is required; additional EMT certifications are preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional firefighting experience, with a focus on aviation firefighting in either civilian or military environments.
• Physical and Medical Requirements:
  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive physical examination as part of the selection process.
  • Normal color discrimination and corrected visual acuity are mandatory.
  • Must be free from pyrophobia (fear of fire), acrophobia (fear of heights), and claustrophobia (fear of confined spaces).
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and withstand hazardous conditions for extended periods.
• Regulatory Compliance: As a condition of employment in Saudi Arabia, all candidates must successfully complete the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s Qualification Verification Program (QVP) to confirm eligibility for visa processing and employment authorization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates for this role must possess a robust foundation of technical expertise and operational acumen, including:

• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of aircraft rescue and firefighting techniques, first aid, and CPR, with the ability to apply these skills in high-pressure environments.
• Aircraft Familiarity: Considerable knowledge of the design, characteristics, and safety procedures of military and civilian rotary wing aircraft, including exit protocols and structural fire/alarm detection and suppression systems.
• Operational Proficiency: Ability to quickly perform and direct all emergency response functions in difficult and hazardous situations without hesitation. Skill in operating specialized firefighting equipment, tools, and vehicles, including highly specialized firefighting apparatus.
• Leadership and Decision-Making: Capacity to lead teams in potentially dangerous situations, make sound and timely decisions, and provide clear, concise instructions to ensure operational success.
• Communication and Training: Ability to comprehend and apply complex instructions while effectively communicating critical information to diverse audiences. Proficiency in teaching and mentoring others in aircraft rescue and firefighting techniques and practices.
